Indoor Byelaws

(revised April 2012)

 

(A)      The dress for male members during play is:-

 

(a)   For Club League, Club Competitions and roll-ups:-

·      White shirt with collar and short or long sleeves with or without a tie (however if a tie is worn it shall be the Club tie) or the Club Registered Shirt. The Club Logo and/or member’s name may be displayed. 

·      A white cardigan or pullover may be worn, again with optional Club logo and/or members name

·      Plain mid-grey trousers.

·      White, brown or grey regulation bowls shoes.

·      White shirt with collar and short or long sleeves, tie, white trousers & white shoes are to be worn when specified.

 

(b)   For Inter Club & Association Friendly games:-

The dress as will be as specified on the Team Sheet

 

(c) For County League games:-

Dress will be in accordance with 1(A)(a) or as specified on the Team Sheet and the County League rules

 

(d) For EIBA Competitions:-

Dress will be in accordance with 1(A)(a) or as specified in the National rules

 

 

(B)     The dress for lady members during play is:-

 

(a)   For Club League, Club Competitions and roll-ups:- 

·      Regulation grey skirts, trousers or cropped trousers. 

·      Club registered blouse or plain white collared tops with set in sleeves.

·      Club blue or white waistcoat or long sleeved fleece. 

·      Brown, grey or white regulation bowls shoes.

·      Optional brown tights or stockings.  White or grey socks with trousers.

·      White regulation skirts, trousers or cropped trousers to be worn when specified.  

(b)   For Inter Club & Association friendly games:-

Dress is in accordance with 1(B) (a) & team selection sheet.

(c)  For County League games:-

Dress is in accordance with team selection sheet & NCWIBA County League rules.

(d)           National & County Competitions:-

National – Dress is in accordance with 1(B) (a) or as specified in the EIBA rules.  National team competitions dress in whites as per team selection sheet.

County – Dress is in accordance with NCWIBA Competition rules.

                  

(C)     Drinking or consumption of food is not allowed on the green or within one metre of the green

 

(D)     Running is not allowed on the green.

 

(E)     Mobile phones must not be used in the bowls hall

 

(F)     Members may introduce & entertain a guest at the Club provided the guest is signed into the Visitors Book by the member. The member introducing the guest is responsible for ensuring the guest observes the rules & byelaws of the Club. Guest bowlers may only play once per month and must pay the designated rink fee plus £1.00.

 

(G)     The precedence for the booking of rinks is:-

(a)  National (EIBA) Inter Club Competitions  and National (EIBA) Individual Competitions

(b)  County League matches (Men’s & Ladies)

(c)   Club Friendly matches

(d)  Club & County Competitions (i.e. those Club Competitions that progress to the Norfolk County Indoor Bowling Association Championships)

(e)  Club Domestic Leagues

(f)    Club only Competitions (including Top Team, Handicap Singles, Evening Triples Knock Out Cup, Plate Competitions, Novices Pairs, Mixed Pairs)

(g)  Roll ups

 

(H)     All league games will be played as shown in the fixture book except as stated in 1(I)

 

(I)     National Team Competitions can only be arranged through the Office. If the rink/rinks required have already been allocated, the affected teams will be informed of the changes and the match rearranged by mutual agreement. The Greens’ Committee reserves the right to cancel or re-arrange any game in exceptional circumstances.

 

(J)     Bowls shoes must not be worn coming into the Club premises and should be put on in the changing rooms. During a game players must not go outdoors wearing bowls shoes.

 

(K)     Bowls bags and shoes must not be left on the concourse

 

(L)       Other than on Sundays a bell will sound once at the following times, 11.50, 14.00, 16.20, 18.20, 20.30, and 22.35 hours, after which the jack must not be delivered. Each session will end on the sounding of the bell excluding those matches governed by the rules of the County or National Associations

 

(M)    Each player is responsible for their own rink fee. The Team Leader of each Team is responsible for collecting these fees from his/her own team before the game starts and also for completing the results sheet at the end of the game.

 

(N)     No person shall be allowed on the green unless wearing regulation bowling shoes.

         

(O)    Only those engaged in play are allowed on the green.

 

(P)     If a previously booked rink is cancelled, then this must be shown on the Rink Booking Sheets as “free”.

 

(Q)     The Club reserves the right to claim rink fees in respect of rinks not being re-booked.
